Pretty Little Christmas Party

Welcome to the Pretty Little Christmas Party hosted by Heather. Since this is my first blog party I got a little carried away. I decided to share with you three creative place card ideas for your holiday table.

I will post one idea each day for the next three days, starting today. The best part About these ideas is I will be giving them away. Yes…you have a chance to win one if you'll post a comment with your e-mail address. You can win only the ones that you'll post on. If you would like to increase your chances, you'll need to visit me again in the next two days. I will post the winners on this blog on Saturday, December 21st.

Let's start the party…!

Today, I would like to share with you a collaged mini art place card that can be used as a note card, recipe card or photo holder after the dinner is over. It makes a wonderful unique one-of-a-kind little gift for your guests to take home.

It doesn't take a lot of material to make it. You probably already have most of them at home. The idea here is to be creative with what you have on-hand. Start with a piece of mat-board 2" x 3.5". Paint the back with an acrylic paint . When dry, make a collage on the front of the mat-board with decorative papers and a couple of images. Add embellishments, if needed. Coat the mat-board with a clear varnish and let it dry. The technique that I used to created my collage I learn from my dear friend and a wonderful artist Cory.

Take a wooden clothespin and paint it in the same color of the back. When everything is dry, glue the clothes pin to the center back of the collage (see photo). The guest name is written on metal rim white tag. I also wanted to have a nice greeting, so I scanned a vintage postcard and shrank it to approximately 1 3/4" x 3". I scored two holes in the postcard and weaved the flower through them. Attach the metal tag to the postcard with a brad and clip it to the collage stand and…Walla! You have a one-of-a-kind unique place card. If you don't have the time to make one for each guest, you can make one collage and copy it as many times as the number of guests. Glue each one to a mat-board and clothespin.

I hope you enjoyed your visit with me and got inspired. Please come back tomorrow for my next creative place card idea. I would like to thank Heather for letting me be part of her party. I'm having a lot of fun and meeting many new creative women. Please check all the wonderful blogs that are part of this party. If you are one of the wonderful bloggers, thank you for stopping by. I'll see you at your blog soon. Don't forget to leave a comment with your e-mail address; you might be the lucky winner.

Happy creative holiday season.
